The Great 78 Project

The Great 78 Project: The Internet Archive has a project going in an attempt to save as many old sound recordings as possible. These are songs recorded on 78 rpm records made between 1898 and the 1950s, when 33 and 45 rpm records replaced them.

I can remember in the early '50s that my parents still had 78s. Bill probably still has some.

Now stay off my lawn, whippersnappers!

My aunt had a large stash of 78s, mostly Italian opera. Her son and I thought they made great flying saucers and slingshot targets.
