It's a minor quibble, but "Honky Tonk Women" is not from 1967 (when the Stones were still in a sort of psychedelic phase), but 1969. And even then, the version on 1969's LET IT BLEED is more countrified than the single version.

Somehow, I don't think chart position is the same thing as sales..."Dandelion" probably wasn't even in the top 30 Stones singles in sales, even with John and Paul singing harmony.

But, then, achronia around the Stones seems to be a matter of convenience, as with the tv ad that has the Stones touring via airplane in 1972 with "Miss You" playing as soundtrack that apparently is being bopped or danced to by the entourage and service staff onscreen...a half-decade before it was recorded.

My husband and I had that same conversation the first time we saw that commercial, Todd. We both looked at each other and said, almost simultaneously, "Isn't that song at least five years in the future?"
