One of my favorite Brown novels. Like Charles Willeford he captured the underbelly of the working class and the drifter class of the 50s with stunning precision. I happen to be rereading THE DEEP END now. Another small masterpiece. Accept no substitutes.

The books that haven't made it into electronic formats are getting really pricey...if you have a bunch of them, it may be time to check your homeowners' insurance...
