I picked up a copy of this very edition two days ago at Half Price Books! Haven't read anything by Stevenson in years (decades?), but I'll have to give this one a try.

Nice coincidence. I've never read the book, but I saw the movie in the hteater when I was a tyke. It's a Robing Hood kind of affair. I should do an overlooked movie post on it one of these days.

This makes a great companion read with Howard Pyle's MEN OF IRON

I loved MEN OF IRON when I was a kid. Saw the movie version (BLACK SHIELD OF FALWORTH) and loved that, too.

There was also a remake in the early '80s, produced for TV by Disney, starring Oliver Reed as the villain, but the 1948 Columbia production was better.

I missed the remake. Probably just as well.
