Hated Aquarius. And I could come up with a lot better Beach Boys songs than Barbara Ann. Would have added Like a Rolling Stone by Dylan and Satisfaction by the Stones.

Too bad WCBS-FM doesn't practice what they preach, since they've moved more and more to the '70s and'80s music.

A couple I would have taken off, agree with Steve on a Beach Boys selection, Dylan, Stones.

That reminds me, I forgot to list the NYC top 10 from 2/24/65:

1 6 EIGHT DAYS A WEEK - The Beatles
2 2 THIS DIAMONG RING - Gary Lewis & The Playboys
3 3 DOWNTOWN - Petula Clark
4 4 MY GIRL - The Temptations
5 1 THE NAME GAME - Shirley Ellis
6 5 YOU’VE LOST THAT LOVIN’ FEELIN’ - The Righteous Brothers
7 11 STOP! IN THE NAME OF LOVE - The Supremes
8 19 GOLDFINGER - Shirley Bassey
9 8 THE BOY FROM NEW YORK CITY - The Ad Libs
10 9 HURT SO BAD - Little Anthony & The Imperials

Beach Boys? I like their version of Barbara Ann a lot but wouldn't pick it as a favorite. I'd go with Help Me Rhonda or I Get Around or ....

My kids (oldest is 22; twins are almost 17) know at least 13 of these by heart--especially all the Beatles music--because they grew up in a house with (older) boomer parents who listen to that music all the time. Sixties music is part of our family's DNA.
