Not really. Overall, they did include most of the movies I'd pick, though not necessarily in the same order.

I've seen 19 of the 25. Where is AMERICAN HOT WAX? How can you name ROCK & ROLL HIGH SCHOOL without even mentioning the great P. J. Soles? How about HAIL! HAIL! ROCK AND ROLL? Or do documentaries not count?

I'm not really interested in seeing any of the ones I've missed, and I think the two you mention should be on there. I don't think they included documentaries.

Actually, in rethinking I give him credit for not including successful but crappy movies like GREASE and FAME. Of course there is ROCK ROCK ROCK with a 13 year old Tuesday Weld (singing by Connie Francis)....

They left out all those '50s roxploitation movies.

If they're not including documentaries, then on the whole I agree with their choices, having seen 17 of them. Was very glad they included Sid and Nancy too.

As for documentaries, THE LAST WALTZ would have to be there.

I haven't even heard of half of these. I think some of those oldies should have been there, and maybe a beach movie.

The problem is, of course, that there simply are not 25 good rock 'n' roll movies. I miss BACKBEAT and LA BAMBA. Maybe also SMITHEREENS, but I haven't seen that since 1983.

ABBA THE MOVIE? I'm not sure, my memory is a bit hazy on that one.

It's great. Anything with ABBA is great.
