1933, not 1939, is the greatest year for classic movies.

He lists WILD BOYS OF THE ROAD (1933) as one of the arguments for making that year better than 1939, and I wholeheartedly agree. It's a masterpiece of filmmaking and storytelling, with a compelling human tale at its heart. Acting (especially by Frankie Darro in the lead), script, and direction are all top-caliber. One of the most touching films ever made.
