That was a great trip down memory lane. I still have the Samsonite luggage I got at age 18 with my mother's supply of S&H stamps. I also still have table trays and a wall-mounted phone in the kitchen. My house will look like Miss Haversham's soon!

Putting up/taking down storm windows was a big deal in my youth. They were heavy & unwieldy, it was a 2-man job, and to get one of them up you had to straddle the light well to a basement window. I earned good book money one summer re-glazing and repainting the things. And for all that they were no more air-tight than a colander.

You can't burn anything outside in my town, but I wish we could. I redeemed my stamps for a scale, once. I forget if they were S&H Green or Plaid. The big surprise on the list for me was cards. As for seasonal decorations, Linda is a bear for that. I don't much care.
