Andy Carey, R. I. P.

Andy Carey, 80, 3rd baseman for Yankee juggernaut in 1950s -: Andy Carey, third baseman for the New York Yankees dynasty of the 1950s that won four straight American League pennants and two World Series, has died at 80.

Bummer. He was the third baseman when I started rooting for the Yankees in 1956. He was a terrific fielder with a strong arm.

God I'm old.

I thought I knew most of the Yankees from that era but I didn't know him. Sorry he passed anyway.
