The Brain that Wouldn't Die is Still Alive

Missions Unknown Got What It Takes To Be A Singing Brain?: "The Overtime Theater has a new musical coming up and you could be a part of it! THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN’T DIE is a new original horror/comedy/musical (and we need more of those) adapted from the ‘classic’ 1962 film of the same title. You may remember the film as the first movie that Mike Nelson watched on Mystery Science Theater 3000. If you don’t remember this nugget of cinema gold, you are in luck. This flick is now in the public domain and you can download it for free, legally, from the Internet Archive.

While the musical is not scheduled to be staged until October, the auditions start next week! If you are a singer/actor or actor/singer and have always wanted to be in a third-tier horror/sci-fi production then now is the time."

Actually this is genius. Be great to see Jan In The Pan's head singing to the Monster in the Closet -played in the movie by Eddie Carmel, whose only other film was 50,000 B.C. (Before Clothing). At the end of the movie the title card for it reads, The Head That Wouldn't Die instead of Brain. Movie also has some nice looking women playing the strippers, one of whom Jan's doctor fiance hopes to use to put Jan's brain in. Hope to catch a production next week at Waynesburg University of the musical adaption of Little Shop of Horrors.

this show has been such as success!
a hardworking team put a great show together, complete with ripping arms off, vintage strippers, beauty pageants, and a great THING costume!

too bad you're so far away!

next year, the overtime tackles the classic R.U.R. in a new adaptation.

Glad to hear it's a success, and I'm betting R. U. R. will be, too.
