Good-bye to an era. First Siskel and Ebert, then Roper when he came aboard, brought intelligent reviews to us common folks.
You didn't always agree with them,and some films they reviewed never got out of the big cities, but you never failed to be entertained.
I probably saw a great many movies that I never would have if I hadn't seen their reviews.
