Great sci-fi film. Hedda Hopper's son, William (Paul Drake in Perry Mason) is always enjoyable to watch (even in a small role like the father in my favorite horror movie, THE BAD SEED).

An 8 inch plastic Ymir is in my sci-fi collection.

The January issue of STARLOG magazine (#362) includes three article/interviews by my buddy, Tom Weaver - an interview with Harryhausen, and interview with with Joan Taylor (female lead in
both 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH and EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS, who soon left acting to be the wife of writer/producer Leonard Freeman (Hawaii Five-O, The Untouchables, Route 66, etc); and an article on Ken Kolb who wrote a first draft screenplay of the unmade, SINBAD GOES TO MARS.)

Legend Films has released a 50th Anniversary Edition of 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH that includes both a restored B&W and colorized version (supervised by Ray Harryhausen).

A Harryhausen Color Gift Set includes: THE FIRST MEN IN THE MOON; 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH (colorized); EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS (colorized); MYSTERIOUS ISLAND; IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA (colorized). The three colorized films were originally budgeted to be made in color (an expensive option in those days) and then filmed in B&W when the budgets were slashed.

I still have my copy of the novel version of the movie, published in digest format.

Ackerman also reprinted the Henry Slesar novelization in an issue of SPACEMEN magazine, with stills from the movie.

I didn't know that.

That book is worth some money, Bill.

Ooo Ooo Ooo, Forry's Spaceman. Good tidbit, Fred.
