Catch It While You Can

TV Week: "NBC has pulled 'Andy Barker, P.I.' after four episodes, replacing the Thursday night series with 'Scrubs' starting this week. The program averaged a 2.1 rating among adults 18 to 49, according to Nielsen. The most recent episode was down to a 1.7.

Two more episodes of the series will be run off this Saturday. "

I'm not sure it's a great loss, but I do know that we seem to be exchanging apples for apples. Is "Scrubs" really that good a show? The time or two I've seen it, the laugh-track did more laughing than I did.

I watched the show, but I won't miss it when it's gone.

As someone who is a thoroughgoing SCRUBS fan, Benjie, I'll take your comment as a sort of meta-criticism...SCRUBS doesn't have a laugh track. (I'm still waiting for someone to let Andy Richter do another show as good as ANDY RICHTER CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE, but perhaps holding breath isn't recommended.)

I suppose somebody's got to say it. I liked Andy Barker quite a bit, and I'm sorry to see it gone so quickly. Where else am I going to get my fix of wildly out-of-date jokes about Fidel Castro?

I'll try to come up with some on the blog, Vince.
