How well I remember going through those catalogs in the long, looonnnggg weeks before Christmas, dreaming of what Santa might bring.....

The paper in ours would be worn and tattered by Christmas. Getting the catalog every year was a big event at our house.

I remember on an episode of Antiques Roadshow someone had either the Roy Rogers or Palladin (Have Gun, Will Travel) holster set in the original box. It was worth quite a bit, iirc.

The farm set and service station look pretty cool. I was about 15 years later and got the "Heritage" play sets from Marx.

My brother got the "Realistic Allstate Deluxe Service Station" for Christmas that year. What I remember most is the loud, angry, frustrated noises coming from downstairs as Santa assembled the thing. And the lift actually did work. One of the coolest presents ever (even though I didn't get it).
