George Clayton Johnson, R. I. P.

Salem-News.Com: George Clayton Johnson wrote the very first episode of Star Trek, The Man Trap; he wrote eight original Twilight Zone episodes for series creator Rod Serling including "Nothing in the Dark", "Kick the Can", "A Game of Pool", and "A Penny for Your Thoughts".

Update:  Locus has taken down its notice of the death of George Clayton Johnson.  Apparently the reports were greatly exaggerated.

Damn. I had no idea he was that close (just up I-5 about an hour, give or take); I thought he was in southern California. I'd like to think I would've tried to meet him. A significant loss.

His family is still stating that as of noon December 24, he has not yet died. He is, however, expect to die at any time. Many - but not all - of the obits have been removed, pending his actual death.
