Obviously a ploy to catch Conrad fans as they peruse the smutty-book-racks.

Movie marketers did something similar 50 years ago when they retitled EYES WITHOUT A FACE as THE HORROR CHAMBER OF DR. FAUSTUS too ensnare unwary fans of Christopher Marlowe.

Yes, but EYES WITHOUT A FACE isn't notably worse than Marlowe's plays...while this clearly prefigures SHAMPOO...was just watching the William Castle documentary yesterday, and Castle was touched, apparently, by being specifically asked to act in SHAMPOO by Beatty...
