But not when these two were there.

Paul and Paula to Return to HPU for Homecoming 2014: In the early 1960s, excitement swept the Howard Payne University campus when two students achieved international fame. Ray Hildebrand and Jill Jackson Landon – known around the world as Paul and Paula – recorded their smash hit “Hey Paula” which spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard pop chart in 1963. The pair will return to campus this Friday for a concert and unveiling of a Texas historical marker in their honor.

The bathroom version sung by Peter Riegert and Karen Allen in "Animal House" is quite memorable.

And slightly different from the original.

I don't recall the bathroom version. I do remember the song playing on the car radio when Marmalard was in the car was his girlfriend. Am I wrong on that?

Yes, and it's on the soundtrack album.

Yes, and there they are. I suspect they don't look like that now.

She looks a little like Annette in that photo. At least her hair does.

That was a good look in those days.

Reigert and Allen sing "Hey Paula" while smoking pot with Professor Jennings (Donald Sutherland). Later when the guys go on the infamous "Do you mind if we dance with your dates" road trip, Reigert is unable to reach Allen on a pay phone. When he comes back to the car, "Hey Paula" is playing on the radio and Flounder imparts that great piece if wisdom: "Women--can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em."

/Seen "Animal House" a hundred times.

//Conservative estimate.

Judy thinks they stole part of that movie from my life. Not saying which part.

Deb, I have been known to quote the entire script.

And "Do you mind if we dance with yo' dates?" was probably my favorite MST3K line ever. (Roger Corman's VIKING WOMEN AND...THE SEA SERPENT was the movie.)

And what a great movie that one is! Have I done an overlooked movie on it yet? I can't remember.
