At Least It's Not "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini."

Woman Says She's Had the Same Song Stuck in Her Head for Three Years: Bad: You've got a song stuck in your head. Worse: It's "How Much is that Doggie in the Window." Worst: It's been stuck in your head for the past three years.

About 30 years ago, I was driving through central Georgia in a car with a busted radio ( not sure it would have helped if it had been working because I was in the middle of nowhere) and for whatever reason the Kenny Rogers song "You Picked A Fine Time to Leave Me Lucille" got stuck in my head. In and on it went--for over two hours! It finally got so bad, I prayed that God would take that song out of my head. To this day, if Lucille comes on the radio, I have to turn it off for fear it'll get lodged in my brain once more.

Yeah, that's pretty bad Deb, but not as bad as "Doggie in the Window" - a song I've hated for over 50 years. I think only a few things could be worse, like "Copacabana."

"Lucille" is pretty bad too. And "Honey."

Of course, Bill was probably referring to the scene in ONE, TWO, THREE when the East Germans tortured Horst Buchholz into confessing he's an American spy by making him listen to the Brian Hyland song over and over again.

You got it, Jeff. A great scene.

I thought of you and your hatred of "Doggie in the Window" when I posted the article.

"Ich bin ein Amerikanisher spion! Ich bin ein Amerikanisher spion!"

I often bring earworms along on the golf course. Yesterday I managed two birdies on the back nine to the Rondo alla Zingarese from Brahms G Minor piano quartet.
Beats Doggie in the Window.

Thanks a heap, Art. Now I'm going to have Rondo alla Zingarese from Brahms G Minor piano quartet stuck in my head all day.
