First saw this after my dad told me his dad loved this movie. Since my grandfather loved westerns, I gave it a go. Love this film so much I bought the DVD.

The war changed Jimmy stewart and with it the sort of characters he played. I know people who had seen many of his post war westerns who were disappointed when they saw Destry Rides Again because it wasn't like the post-war movies he did with Anthony Mann. Absurd comparison, but understandable if you look at his career as being all one seamless thread.
