Central Grocery in the French Quater of New Orleans makes the finest Muffaletta (sp?) on the planet.

I've actually had several of these sandwiches. Which qualifies me to ask: The McRib? Seriously?

I know, the inclusion of the McRib was a bit of a shocker to me - formed pork with awful barbecue sauce, and pickles! And yet, I sometimes find myself craving one.

And by the way, where was the pride of Philadelphia, the Cheese Steak sandwich (with Whiz).

I was surprised to see the McRib on there when I got my magazine on Saturday. McDonald's normal sandwiches are horrible, how the hell does a McRib qualify for anything?

I'm with Victor -- the Central Grocery's muffuletta is the finest sandwich I've ever had. And since I was a bachelor until I was nearly 50, I have eaten a LOT of sandwiches. When I was living in NOLa, Mother's had a roast beef po'boy to die for, too.

Perhaps the lack of a cheesesteak is what led to my subscription copy not reaching my Phil burb abode. And you can get that With or Without, if you still eat the beasts, as I've given up some years back. (The veggie version at Collingswood's Pop Shop wouldn't be too bad if, like all the food there, it wasn't so intentionally bland.)
